Umm, now that's one unusually helpful dog, I guess what they say about cats and dogs isn't always true. Nice to see that she's getting at least some help.

Actually, while most cats are indeed lactose intolerant, they usually don't become so until after they're around three months old.

Let me guess. The dog's name is Cameo.

It's my tail. Don't you know it's rude to point?

Hmmm... I'm not sure I'm following you on the "Cameo" thing.

He's not a famous german shepherd.    I suppose that's why I was confused.

Some famous german shepherds...

Beautiful dogs!  When I was a kid, the family German Shepherd led my Mom to me when I was lost.  She wasn't trained for that.  She was just a great dog that we got from the Humane Society.

I'm not really a dog person, but German Shepherds do look good.

For some inexplicable reason the term "wolf dog" is commonly used here to refer to a German Shepherd, something that often infuriates their owners.

They do look a little wolfish, at least in shape, but of course, wolves are bigger, longer, and have bushier tails.  When I was a teenager, we had a German Shepherd who was actually 1/4 wolf (we got him from the pound and didn't know about the wolf part until later).  He was actually a great dog, really sweet.  One of our family ducks once went after him, and the dog backed off.

Reminds me of my previous doberman.  She was absolutely terrified of our pet quail.  Naturally, the quail, being a quail, could smell  fear and would attack the dog any chance he got.  Of course, given that he weighed in at about 4 ounces, perhaps the size of a robin, he was about as harmless as it's possible to be.  It was quite an odd sight seeing the same dog that would jump up at the door fiercely, barking at the person who happened to ring the doorbell being chased across the room by a quail.

Wow!  It's funny how dogs can be sometimes.  That Shepherd-Wolf was bitten by a Dachschund bit him, and he didn't retaliate.

I'm still picturing the Doberman running from a quail - funny.

Quailphobia

As for looking wolfish, my brother once had an Irish Wolfhound/St.Bernhard mix (mostly wolfhound), now she was Huge and all grey. I didn't walk her often, but on a few occasions I saw people who were absolutely terrified of her, never had that with any other dog.

Because of animosities between Germany and The UK at the time of World War I, German Shepherds are known as 'Alsatians' there.

But...not as dumb as 'Freedom Fries.'
