Dickens is so cute with his snow hat.

Wow, what were those hunters thinking? Elk hunting without permits? Along with being close to a national Park and NOT knowing the boundaries? It's kinda hard to hide an Elk once you've killed one and field dressed it. Taxidermists tend to ask questions too. Looks like Dickens found good company to hang out with.

PLEASEEEEEEE let Scott be the one to take Dickens home. I can see that being an adventure in and of itself. Dickens would make a nice pillow.

I still wonder what is going to happen with the BC. I hope they don't put him down for stealing the sheep, hopefully they understand that he did it because he had no option. Perhaps Sandusky keeps his mouth shut about the "stealing sheep" part.

Ranger Smith?!?  OY VEY.  Let me guess.  The bear's real name is Yogi, and the 'Dusker has actually been lost in Jellystone Park?

I was thinking more along the lines of "The Matrix", but your idea works too.

Now that I think about it, people driving by the SUV Scott is in are going to think it has a bad subwoofer. However it will just be Sandusky purring. Stopping at rest areas will get people's attention.smile/eek.gif

Dickens will probably be duct taped to the window like one of those window plushies. I'm having great fun thinking of things to do to Dickens that don't hurt him too much. smile/angel.gif

I'm still liking the idea of rubbing Dickens down in catnip and suspending him from a rope in Sandusky's enclosure. Have Bunker hold the rope and lower/raise Dickens as needed. A Havanese pinata. Though Sandusky CAN jump rather high when he wants to.

Thanks for the kind comments, Crosshair.  I have been trying to keep everyone on their toes as the story has moved along, and I have especially enjoyed your guesses as to where the story was headed. While I did have the major plot points laid out well in advance, the filler of the story was written in my usual style (that of an "inebriated unicyclist").  As long as I can keep my main story arc intact, I figure the best way to keep things interesting for you all is to not know what the heck is going to happen myself until a few days before posting.

Thanks in return, I envision myself as the person who throws M&Ms at the inebriated unicyclist for entertainment. Missing most of the time but potentially affecting the path that is taken. Every blue moon I'll score a hit. (Still waiting for that to happen here though.)

It really is fun for me to type up what I think is going to happen. I can't believe I lurked for so long and didn't register.

A talking pinata or a flying mop are my two top guesses. Though it could be quite a few things. Could see him as a bird, a UFO, his tetherball. He might see him as the FC or Sedona and Bunker as Dr. Evil lowering her into a diabolical trap. (That one could get interesting.)

Much like Flu induced hallucinations, you never know what you're going to get.

More new ideas on what to do with Dickens. (perhaps I should compile  a list of everything I have suggested.)

1. Petting Zoo
2. Pre-school
3. Ship him home via air freight
4. Dress him in a bunny outfit for a month once they get home
5. Give him a "poodle" haircut
6. Send him to Asia. (kidding)
7. Sponge for cleaning the windshield of the car.
8. Have Dr. Rumack put the thermometer in the freezer for Dickens

Looks like they are going with the "Mop" route. (Then probably ship him back via air freight.) The more pissed Dickens gets the cuter he looks. The "Ammonia" suggestion just made me start laughing out loud.

Still don't know what is going to happen with BC and FC. I don't see Sandusky just leaving them there without saying anything to Scott.

Bunker's "What should I do with this?"-comment combined with Dickens' outlook made me chuckle spontaneously. I suppose he didn't quite expect the unting trip to end like this. In addition to that, I got the vision of him vowing "I'll get you one day, Sandusky!" like the archetypical cartoon villain who has been captured. Plus I wouldn't be so sure we've seen the last of him yet, his type tends to be very slippery and persuasive.
Some kind of petting zoo or preschool sound nice ideas, especially since the latter would likely include 'cute' outfits and the like.

Now, I seriously want to see what happens to Sandusky's new-found cougar friends, do they become permanent cast or are they just taken somewhere away from the farm and released in some sort of 'And they lived happily ever after'-scene... though in case of BC it could not be very happy unless he gets some help.

I'm inclined to think it could be more scary to Dusker than Dickens, assuming Dusker's hazy mind would turn him into some kind of a monster. smile/eek.gif

Hmmmm, a Sandusky Frankenstein. That could be interesting. Though he would look weird with green fur.

Since Dicken's buddies are going to be in jail I still think Scott might be the one taking Dickens home. Still no new ideas on what will happen with BC.

Well good to see that Sandusky is trying to help out BC. I still think he should have kept his yap shut about the "killing the sheep" part, but Ranger Smith seems to be an understanding fellow.

Scott probably wants to be getting home, but I think Sandusky will want to hang around to say goodbye to FC and see what happens with BC. (Bunker probably wants to get his ranger hat and some video of Dickens being used as a mop.) I've already gone over the possibilities I see with BC so no need to repeat myself. The one thing we don't know is the nature of BCs injury. There are many possibilities that could cause him to loose sight in that eye, some correctable, some not, some partially correctable.

I've scoured the internet looking for possible causes of BCs blindness, trying to figure out where John could take the story. There are just too many possibilities and John has left himself enough room that he could take the story in any of the three directions. (BCs vision being correctable, uncorrectable, partially correctable.) BC has said that he can't see out of his left eye, but to what degree is unknown. There are many degrees of vision loss that make the eye unusable for depth perception.

Either way, I think Sandusky, Bunker, and Scott are going to be sticking around at the park for awhile.

Looks like Dickens will end up in the pound, since the rangers are taking him in. He'll have plenty of time in doggy jail to plot his next move-if he gets out of there alive.

Yay, Bunker finally got his Ranger hat. (Though he still hasn't mastered the ranger "look".) Lets see him give Sandusky a hard time about hunting deer without a permit. (Yes I know it was FC who caught that deer.)

Now, where do we go from here? We could go straight to our trio in the car on the way home, or we could be spending some more time in the park.

Does Sandusky have his deer dinner and our trio head back to the ranger station, or is someone/something currently checking out the mule deer and Sandusky/Bunker/Scott will come across them. Does FC have cubs that are hungry and waiting for her to return? FC never indicated either way. Scott and Bunker might have a case of Deja vu on their hands and Sandusky might learn what a pain in the butt he was as a cub.

Either way, Sandusky wanting to go back for the deer is essentially stalling for time, keeping them in the park longer for more hilarity to unfold.

For all we know, John could neatly wrap this story up by the end of the week, though there is plenty of potential to possibly take another month or two to tell. Or possibly somewhere in between. I'm confident that we are going to be meeting BC and FC again sometime in the future.

*Announcer voice* Stay tuned for our next episode.

I think all Bunker needs is someone to cut two holes on either side of the hat, and that should just about do the trick. (I think)  The rim of the hat fits him surprisingly well!

Unless some *nearly*unseen surprises *cough* FC having cubs *cough* occur, I dont think Sandusky'n company will be leaving for another week or two.

PS: There is no reason for Sandusky to explain hunting without a permit as last i checked cougar dont need permits to hunt (especially in the wild for wild creatures)

Yea, I thought they were going to have that done to the hat, but it looks like Bunker can't wait to wear it.

I know, but this is Bunker we're talking about and he's wearing a ranger hat. Do you really think he'll be able to resist doing that. Remember what he did when he found out that he was part Australian Shepherd.

Though perhaps Scott still doesn't let Sandusky go for the deer. I think he will though. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Meh, perhaps. I can see where you're coming from there. The deer hasn't been dead long enough to rot though. We'll just have to sit back and see what happens.

Awww, so cute - it could be that BC and FC eventually end up together in some other area of the park if his eye injury is healed so that he can fend for himself again. After all, it's not like Dusker would be fit for dad anyhow due to certain reasons.

Heh, that'd be one massive surprise - but I'd say FC is much too svelte to be carrying any 'surprises' like that.

I have the distinct feeling we have not heard the last of him yet, who knows, he might end up running the pound in short order if he's a criminal mastermind worth his salt. After all, those types can be easy to knock down, but they hardly ever stay down from long periods of time.

I was just thinking, I dont think BC will be able to be released into the wild again.  It is common belief that once a wild animal attacks an animal it usually wouldnt attack, it might attack it again (like why there is a very good chance for a dog (or any wild animal) having to be put down for attack a person)  I have a feeling that BC will end up at the refuge that Dusker was at for a while.

I just realized, I dont think Scott or John would even consider Dusker being capable of taking down a mule deer.

That was mentioned in Comic #416. I still laugh at the thought of a cougar that needs the crusts cut off his sandwiches.
