...what exactly was going through your head when you found out that you were actually talking to your sister?

Holy cow!  How did I miss this entry?!  I guess I've been busy sitting in the back yard and staring at a blank fence.  Sorry VPN!

Actually, this does a pretty good job of showing my reaction right here.

To be honest, I had never really thought of myself as being part of a family.  Well, Scott and Bunker are my family now, but having a cougar family never really crossed my mind.

Sedona helped answer a lot of my immediate questions, such as what happened to my Mom and why I ended up on the front porch of Scott's apartment.  I have some other questions for her, so I can't wait for her to come back.

I intend to live forever.  So far, so good.

It's nice to know you were left on Scott's porch by your sister who was doing her best to take care of you instead of wondering who on earth would leave a baby cougar there.

You have to admit that confirmed animal lovers are weak willed when it comes to animals in need of help. Questions such as "who would leave a baby cougar on MY doorstep?" are replaced by "I gotta do SOMETHING to help him out." and "Well, I can't leave it out there all night."

That rule applies to pretty much every animal with few specific exceptions-poisonous snakes, alligators, crocodiles, etc.

It does help a helpless baby animal to be cute.

I'd firmly be in the "Gotta do something" crowd if I ever came across an abandoned baby animal of reasonable cuteness. Sadly, cougars are not native to Finland.

Though I don't know if I'd be able to keep it unless it was a domestic cat or the like, since Finnish law explicitly forbids keeping any wild animals as pets, or any other animals not specifically considered as pet animals (so no keeping fur-bearing foxes as pets etc.)

Actually, under the Arizona Revised Statutes it does seem that one could theoretically own a cougar if the specific requirements of the law are met. Animals born in captivity to a permit holder are treated differently than animals taken from the wild. One could also argue that Arizona tradition-as antiquated or reprehensible as one might think it to be, does hold that private persons or organizations can own cougars. From about 1915 to the 1950s, the University of Arizona's mascot was a live wildcat. Back in her childhood, Associate Justice Sandra Day O'Conner and her siblings had a pet bobcat when they were living on the ranch in eastern Arizona and western New Mexico.
