That is a nice video you made.  I like the song in the background.

I don't remember the part where Bunker and his sister are playing cards, with Sandusky pressed against the window.  I'll have to go back and read that.

glad you liked the vid.

The background music is by an Australian Artist named Lee Kernaghan and is called Electric Rodeo.

also, for the railfans here, look, actual video, not slide show

The video is great! I've been focusing on some projects lately, this one being one of them.

This signal is one of many that was acquired by Old Pueblo Trolley from a mining railway that shut down years ago. Some of the signals were taken out of service, but many like this one had never been put in service. They sat in their packing crates. We stored the material and sold some signals over the years.

I knew of the signals and decided to get myself one. Just for the fun of it, I decided to wire it up to work on household current. I did it quickly (two days of work) and only $40.00 USD for wire and parts.

Here you see the signal working. This General Railway Signals two aspect dwarf has a red aspect and green aspect. The placement of the lights is different from automobile traffic lights for two reasons. The technical reason is that in areas with heavy snow adn ice, the snow and ice will freeze to the tops of the metal visors-obstructing view of any lamp above. The traditional reason is that in the days of the semaphore and disc signal, the operator had to pull a lever to clear the signal. Once the signal was passed or changed, it fell to the danger indication. The operators often referred to clearing a signal as "pulling it up" and setting a signal to danger as "knocking it down".

When I worked for the Tennessee Valley Railroad, sometimes we'd have to call the Norfolk Southern Towe Operator for a signal. The operator would often tell us to hang tight, that's he'd pull the dignal up as soon as possible.

Here you can see the wiring in the lower lamp housing. The original terminal block is on the left side with ground wires connected. You can clearlt see the signal lamp base and numerous lead wires. The signal is controlled using a single pole, double throw switch that only allows one lamp to be on at any time. Conversely, the signal cannot be shut off except by unplugging it.

"When a man runs on railroads over half of his lifetime he is fit for nothing else-and at times he don't know that."-Conductor Nimrod J. Bell, 1896.

Much better. The sound of the stack and whistle are all the music a steam engine needs.

I don't believe I've ever run across train videos with music other than yours.

Depends, it's true that steam engines make their own music, but I have personally pestered Redtail to get my paws on some of the tracks he has used on his videos since some of them are just too cool. So I'd say it's a matter of taste.
