I've been trying for a week or so to think of a way to thank John without sounding like a big suck-up. Since that's not possible, I guess I'll just run with it.

Happy Birthday, John. The amount effort you put into Sandusky is apparent by the quality of the artwork and the humor in the strip, but you went way beyond the call of duty with the books. Signing every book, adding a bookmark and sticker, and addressing each envelope the way you did with the personal touch was really amazing. I wish I could show my appreciation with my checkbook more than I have, but I hope I can speak for all of regulars by saying we hope you know how much we all appreciate you and the gang!

It's my tail. Don't you know it's rude to point?

He's been a little busy with the move, not to mention the buffalo and the giant armadillo in his back yard.

Being a big suck-up is encouraged.

Thank you so much!  I must say that, being rather frugal (cheap) myself, I wanted to make sure you guys got your money's worth.  $25 or $30 for a couple of comic books is a lot to pay, and I still worry that I short-changed you.  So, I very much appreciate the appreciation.
